TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Training
The Plastics Institute of America (PIA), in collaboration with Division of Continuing Education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, offers a series of modules to provide employee training to enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of mechanics and other technical staff working primarily with plastics.

Seminars
The Plastics Institute of America, Inc. and the UMass Lowell's Division of Continuing Education are jointly sponsoring a series of seminars. These seminars are designed for plastics executives and executives from related industries who deal with administrative and business issues in the areas of new technologies.

Scholarships
The Plastics Pioneers Association is a group of men and women, limited in number to 250, all of whom have enjoyed a minimum of 30 years employment in “plastics,” and all of whom have made significant “contributions” to the industry in areas of new technology, education, organizational leadership, polymer development, and processing machinery innovation. The association manages an education endowment fund, proceeds of which are used to award each year dozens of financial grants to students needing help in their education expenses to enter into a full time career in any and all segments of the plastics industry, with emphasis on “hands on” participation in the many fields where members of the Plastics Pioneers Association have spent their professional years.
